We expect events to not finish the day they start. Please be prepared to continue unfinished events at the beginning of the next day.

All Events will be “First-Match Consolation” (Guaranteed 2 matches)

*Junior players must be under the age of 15 to be eligible. Juniors events are reserved for those that are beginners and do not participate in USAB Juniors Tournaments*

All draws will be capped at 32.

There may be an exception if there is an overwhelming amount of registration for an event.

3 events max per participant

Players may not play 2 different singles levels.

Players may play 2 different doubles and mixed levels with different partners.

If a participant is an A level player, they will not be allowed to sign up for C level events.

The Tournament Committee reserves the right to combine or cancel events as needed due to the number of registrations.

The CBA Tournament Committee has the right to change the skill level of the player after research if the committee does not agree with the player’s proposed skill level.

A - National Level Player / Frequent Tournament Player (Usually places high in tournaments

Caps & Seeding
1. In the circumstance that more entries are received than can be accommodated in the available court hours, events can be capped, and registrations will be accepted on a “first-come, first-serve” basis
2. The seedings will be based on the most recent USAB Rankings, recent local tournament results, and then a randomized draw
3. The player registration list and bracket will be released on within a week of the tournament date to allow time to create pairings for those that have requested partners and to update bracket based on seeding.
Withdrawals
No refunds will be given after the start of the tournament date. Refunds are available only up to 50% of the registration if done before the tournament start date. Please contact Fung Foo for any extenuating circumstances.
Withdrawals made after the tournament start date will be considered a walkover (WI)
Tournament or Event cancellation:
If there is a reason for event cancellation or reschedule due to factors outside of the control of CBA (i.e. bad weather, lack of overall entries, etc.), then a reschedule will be attempted first, after which a refund will be considered
Conditions of Play

Tournament grade shuttles will be used throughout the tournament.

Consolation draws will be held for each event except for events that will be changed to round robins or pools depending on entry size.

All main draw matches will be best of 3 games to Badminton World Federation's (BWF) standard of 21 points with a rally-point scoring system
-
Depending on time, the tournament committee may switch scoring rules for the consolation draws
-
Example: 1 set to 31 (switch at 16)

A player not ready to play in 10 minutes after his/her match is called may be defaulted
-
Each player in a doubles event must submit separate entry forms.
-
For events with not enough entries, events will be combined with the next nearest group category, made unisex, or canceled.

If canceled, refunds will be provided

Acceptable badminton clothing must be worn during play
-
Non-marking shoes are required to play on the courts
-
The tournament committee reserves the right to change any of the above conditions
Awards
-
Prize Pool Distribution will be calculated depending on the number of entries per draw.

All A-level draws will have cash prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place.

There will be non cash prizes for B-level 1st, 2nd, and 3rd.
-
There will be non cash prizes for C-level 1st, 2nd, and 3rd.
-
There will be non cash prizes for Juniors events.
